Blog 6: English Language Challengs

 Hi everyone, I hope u have a good week. This is the last blog and in this  I’m going to talk about my experience learning English at university. 

Well for me this semester of English has been like a roller coaster, because I think i'm learn more thing, but the program is very standard so, sometimes isn’t interesting to learn. Nevertheless, the dynamic is very nice, and made the experience easier. About the blogs, I think is a good exercise for to know about our classmates and teacher, and practice the writing, but maybe is necessary new topics or other activity in the same line.

About the aspects of my English I need to improve, I’m thinks it’s more the speaking, because it’s an area I don’t feel comfortable, because  I’m feel embarrassed to talk in this language, but I think I need to practice more to feel  more confident, and  maybe I can practice with my friends or watching series in English, this way I can listening to the words and sentences and practice with myself xd. Also, I need to improve my listening, but I want to listen more music in English and watch series from USA with subtitle’s in English. 

Outside the English class I using English rarely because all my context is in Spanish so isn’t necessary, sometimes the papers at university is in this language but I prefer don’t reading. In other times, I reading memes in English or a listening Tik Toks, and translate in my mind, but no more.

Blog 5: Changes to my study program

 

Hi everyone, today I am going to talk about some changes that I have considered necessary that could be made in the study program of Psychology. Respect to curriculum I think in the first year or in the first semester we need less academic workload because is too much class time and assistantship for people that need adapt of high school to university. In this same line, sometimes I think is necessary more time of career because when we take optative’s in the second semester the 3erd year, is too much courses necessary for the major and the different areas that I feel we lack the time to be able to take the ones we want to take. Also, maybe is necessary the course of methodology of social research be taught in second semester of the first year and not in the first because is a subject important for the entire career and so many times we don’t take the importance it has.

In addition to this, The general formation courses (CFG) and artistic and culturals need more vacancies because if you don’t get them, you can fall behind.

About the faculty facilities I think we need more space, because when we have lessons in the building of FACSO the classroom is so small considered the quantity of people.

And finally, about “Use of technology” and “Teaching methods” I don’t know at this time what changes could be made.

Nevertheless is a good career and we have many good professors and curriculum.

Blog 4: Post-Graduate Studies

 

Hello everyone, in this blog I write about the Master’s I consider studying later to finish my career. In this moment I don’t think of studying a Master later to finish my career, first as I want to work in an area about psychology. But maybe in a future it is possible to study a Master, and if I am thinking of that, I believe it is something in the area about clinical psychology specialized in adults or something in relation to Judicial Psychology, a specialized in Forensic psychological evaluation, because it is the area I like most.

I don’t know if to study in Chile or outside, because nothing is sure in this moment in my mind and life, but if I am  going to another country I think it is necessary that in the country they speak in Spanish (For example, Spain), because I don’t understand other languages, but I think it is more probably that I do it in Chile, because I don’t have money to  go to another country, and because here  I have everything, so it is more comfortable for me and I would like to study face to face classes, because I don’t want more online classes because they are horrible.

Blog 3: My dream job

 

Hi again everyone! today I’m talk about what kind of job I would like to have in the future, in this moment, I don’t know something in specific, but I think is something in relation with my major, and this is psychology. I imagine I will work in clinical psychology, doing therapy in South of Chile (Maybe Valdivia) or in the area of Judicial psychology, working with people in the jail or children or teenagers in the SENAME. For this I need skills like empathy, understanding, psychological tools, sensitivity and mental strength, and others. I hope my salary is enough to live and have some day a house in the country with some pets and this way have a relaxed life.

I’m studying this career because I want to help other people in the area about the mental health, also I want to inform about this, because the stigma of mental health is so strong in the society.

If this is not possible, I would like to job too in something like a business of vegan products maybe o something like that, but in this moment nothing is sure, so I live day to day and I hope in first place finish my career.

Blog 2: The best vacation ever

Hi everyone, today I’m going to talk about the best vacation ever, this was in 2021, we went with my friends to the Beach, to the city of Pichilemu. We went for 4 days and stayed in the cottage of my friends family. For the pandemic I couldn’t go out for a long time, so this was very necessary for me back then and I went with eight friends, so this made the vacation very funny and nice.

We went walking in the beach and spent time there, also we spent time in the cottage, drinking and talking about many things. Like I said before, for the pandemic I couldn’t hang out with my friend for a long time, and didn’t have much interaction with other people that were not my family, so these days were a moment of distraction and entertainment.

This was in winter, so the weather was cold, but this is something I like  and made the time in the cottage  better.

Blog 1: A country I would like to visit

 Hi everyone. Today I’m going to talk about a country I would like to visit, and choosing only one is hard for me, because I want to go a to different countries such as Korea, Canada, Perú, among others. However, in this moment in my life I want to go more to South Korea, because I watch many Kdramas and  I listen to K-pop (BTS for example) and other music from this country. 

South Korea is a very expensive country, so I will need to raise money to go to visit. They have a very important music industry, which is very well known nationally  and internationally. Also, they have a very good security in the streets. 

I would like to go to visit the BTS musical museum, and a I would like to go to tourist places there too, such as Busan or Jeju, because there are different beaches and landscapes. 

I would like to maybe go to study the language from this country, because they speak Korean, so it’s interesting for me to learn this. But, my first priority is to go and visit the different places.
